History and provenance
Originally registered in 1967, this magnificent Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupé Series 1 was re-registered in Verona in 1978, retaining its original license plates and registration documents ever since.
It has had few and careful owners: one change of ownership in 1980 (Verona), another in 1996 (Bolzano), before being acquired by our company, which carried out a comprehensive, concours-level restoration to factory specifications.
After completion, it was driven by Cristiano Luzzago, the well-known Italian classic car collector and dealer, before being sold in 2003 to the current owner, who has preserved it meticulously ever since.
Since the restoration, the car has covered only 4,300 km and remains in excellent aesthetic and mechanical condition.
A request for the official historical registration extract is underway to trace the original first license plate; under the new Italian regulations, it may be possible to reassign the car’s original registration number, further enhancing its historical authenticity.
Model description and rarity
The Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 (produced from 1964 to 1967) is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Powered by the legendary 4.2-litre XK inline-six engine, it produced around 265 hp, allowing for impressive performance for its time: over 240 km/h top speed and 0–100 km/h in just over 7 seconds.
Featuring four-wheel disc brakes, a monocoque chassis with forward-opening bonnet, and the unmistakable lines penned by Malcolm Sayer, the E-Type remains an icon of British engineering and design.
The Series 1 4.2 Coupé models are today highly sought-after by collectors for their pure styling interior trim, original chrome details, and for being among the last E-Types with covered headlamps.
This particular example, with ASI Targa Oro, FIVA and ACI-CSAI certifications, represents a rare and valuable collector’s car, perfectly suited for concours d’elegance, rallies and prestigious international historic events.
