7.5-litre V8. This yellow Lincoln Continental Mk3 was imported from California and first registered in the UK on 1st March 2021. The vendor, who has owned it since then, tells us that the car had been garaged since 1987 and has now been recommissioned for use on multiple UK road trips, adding that it drives very well. Recent use included a 268-mile journey, the week before driving 90 miles to reach the auction. The odometer is showing 102,600 miles.
Equipment includes central locking and electric seats, while upgrades from standard spec include electronic ignition, a K&N air filter and glasspack silencers. Since being in the UK, the car has received a new fuel system including fuel tank and carburettor, various new brake components, a top-end engine rebuild, and a recent service that included gearbox oil. The vendor informs us that the air conditioning is unplugged, the rear electric windows are not working, and the headlight covers are also losing their vacuum.
Paperwork includes the current V5C in the vendor's name, and large assortment of receipts and invoices dating from the current owner's tenure, and a few period promotional brochures.
